CODE BREAKER - Single Family All-Electric  on July 20, 2022 at 6pm - 7pm

The 2022 California Energy Code has introduced significant changes for Residential occupancies, from how these occupancies are to be classified and organized within the code to the introduction of new Mandatory and Prescriptive measures facilitating preparation for future single-family all electric residences. Join us for this one-hour presentation where we review not only the all-electric preparation requirements of the Energy Code, but also PV exemptions. We also will explore all-electric preparation in the forms of heat pump space heating, domestic hot water, and battery ready initiatives.

• Cite the date when 2022 Energy Code requirements will go into effect

• Describe how 2019 Residential occupancy classifications have been reorganized in 2022 Energy Code along with their corresponding code sections

Nick Brown is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) and on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC).He is a subject matter expert on the California Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6 or Energy Code) and teaches multiple classes sponsored by Energy Code Ace (the utilities' Statewide Codes and Standards team).He holds a BA in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA in Manufacturing from the University of Michigan.
 
Nick remodeled his own home in 2014 in a deep energy retrofit and has written and presented extensively on Net Zero buildings, high-performance walls, and energy efficient building.
